Felice Herrig is an experienced MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter. She trained in standing striking arts in multiple styles of kick boxing (Western Kickboxing and Muay Thai). She has been doing what the current brand of MMA since 2009. She is a very solid sports martial arts who has earned a pretty good (Lil Bulldog) nickname over her time in the sports Martial arts.
Felice Herrig‘s skill should be applauded, each variant of sport martial art is its own thing. Each is hard as convention is important for the expression of the form. She is a really skilled Sport Martial Artist, who to me excels at strikes in the sport world.
I think that alot of people (male and female) sometimes don’t understand the dynamics and also the pragmatic nature of martial arts due to popular media. Martial arts and acrobatics are two different worlds that can correlate in the their demonstration aspects. A martial artist needs to know how to win against an opponent in their medium not necessarily perform flips and jump on/off buildings.
Felice is a wonderful athlete and she shows her spirit in programs like American Ninja Warrior (I honestly dislike the use of the term ninja in this but hey). I was impressed by what she did in the show. An expectation from many people is that if you are good in a medium of martial arts you must be good at climbing walls, etc. Most martial artist can’t do that and what Felice did was pretty impressive.
What impressed me the most about Felice is her spirit. The spirit of a fighter is to not stay down. For her to have failed American Ninja Warrior and to come back later at date is huge. She also did it in such an impressive manner, I’ve developed admiration for her character. If she decided to focus on training more for events like this, I think she would do extremely well. Her fitness is very impressive but practice gives insight to what you need to do for the conventional medium you find yourself in. Taking away injury, she is probably a better American Ninja Warrior than me.
Felice is very personable and should do more media. Many people don’t have enough charisma and or presence to do media but Felice Herrig could do well in this area . Doing cosplay shoots, interacting more with the comic convention world, etc will help her base out. She really could endear herself well to that kind of audience. She has been doing this for a bit, its just the volume of material needs to be a bit higher.
Felice Herrig dabbles pretty well in other media. However more of that needs to be done as long as it does not interfere with training for her primary passion. Seeing her make another attempt at the obstacle course, done more cosplay sets, guest appear in short films or express her views more training and development for sport fighters would be great. It would give her fans more and attract more people to her so they can become new fans.
– Primarily we want to see Felice Herrig in the ring, but more than that we just want to see Felice Herrig. Hopefully as time goes on, more of that will come our way.
