Raury isn’t a large mainstream voice in hip-hop at the moment. So I’m going to make a few introductory posts for his music. I’m going to showcase the 5 most essential songs in Raury’s catalog, in my humble opinion.

# 3

CPU

CPU featuring RZA of Wu-Tang Clan is one of the most interesting songs that Raury has released. He already has a unique style, but the crooning vocals that Raury lays down on this hook are almost hypnotizing. It sounds like they passed Raury‘s vocals through some kind of synthesizer, which plays into the computer theme of the track.

All of Raury‘s best tracks come when he keeps his concepts simple, and close to home. In this song, he does just that. The lyrics explain the story of a speaker, who still wants to be involved with a past love interest. That feeling really comes through on this track, its really powerful. Raury gives you a bit of everything, a littler rapping here, a nice bridge there, and a verse from the RZA. All these elements come together to make this song one of the gems of Raury‘s catalog.
